Epicor, a global leader in industry-specific enterprise software designed to drive business growth, continues to expand its global portfolio for the make, move, and sell industries with the introduction of Epicor Prophet 21 Cloud ERP for distributors in Australia and New Zealand (ANZ).
Epicor Prophet 21 is a leading SaaS-based ERP solution purpose-built for distribution companies and forms part of the Epicor Industry ERP Cloud. The system enables distributors to leverage advanced business intelligence and industry-specific integrations to strengthen operations, build stronger supplier relationships, protect their business from cyber threats, and accelerate time-to-value.
According to a recent Forrester study conducted in collaboration with Epicor, 78% of distributors across the ANZ region plan to adopt or expand their use of AI within ERP systems, yet only 35% have implemented it effectively. This highlights a significant gap between ambition and execution, with legacy ERP systems and siloed data identified as the main barriers to supply chain agility and modernization.
In addition, the study found that 68% of distributors in ANZ plan to replace their ERP systems by 2028, with many currently evaluating SaaS-based alternatives. This trend signifies a major shift toward modern, flexible, and cloud-based ERP platforms.
“We are listening closely to the needs of distributors in Australia and New Zealand, and responding with expanded resources and tailored solutions to meet their specific requirements,” said Andy Coussins, Executive Vice President of International at Epicor. “Our expansion in this strategic market reflects Epicor’s long-term commitment to delivering SaaS- and data-driven capabilities that empower distributors to make smarter and faster decisions.”
The release of Epicor Prophet 21 in the ANZ region is scheduled for December 2025, with a strong focus on enhancing Country-Specific Functionality (CSF) to meet local business requirements and regulatory compliance. These new capabilities are designed not only to ensure adherence to local regulations but also to improve operational efficiency and customer engagement through customizable forms and localized language support.
Some of the key features expected to be included are:
- Compliance with local accounting standards such as IFRS and GAAP, along with more efficient management of Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- Business Activity Statement (BAS) reporting capabilities to support tax compliance, along with support for the Payment Times Reporting Scheme (PTRS) to promote fair payment practices for small business suppliers.
- Integration with BPAY, enabling convenient electronic payments through financial institutions to enhance business transaction efficiency.
With the introduction of Epicor Prophet 21 in Australia and New Zealand, Epicor strengthens its position as a strategic partner for distributors seeking to transform data into faster, more accurate, and impactful business decisions.
